A. Yes we are! Duane Mainardi Builders is also licensed in the state of Pennsylvania
NJ License #: 13VH03384600
Commonwealth of PA ID: 216691
PA License #: 42688
Lead Safe Renovator ID #: RI-18342-12-07452
A. Absolutely. Getting the Certificate of Insurance directly from the contractor’s insurance agent will provide you with assurance that the coverage is current.
In addition to registering with the state of New Jersey – home remodeling contractors are required to adhere to the following guidelines:
- The home remodeling contractor is required to maintain statutory Worker’s Compensation insurance
- The home remodeling contractor must carry at least $500,000 Liability insurance per incident in order to be registered with New Jersey. If the home remodeling contractor utilizes sub-contractors – they all must also meet the same insurance requirements.
- Ask every roofing contractor if roofing is listed as their primary business on their worker’s compensation insurance policy. If they don’t list roofing as the primary business, this can expose the homeowner to additional liability in the case of an accident. Duane Mainardi Builders, LLC. specifically lists roofing as a primary business on our workers compensation policy.
Please Note:
If a home remodeling contractor is unable to produce the appropriate insurance documents, do not hire them as you may be responsible for any injuries or other accidents that occur.

A. Most definitely. We will always provide our clients with a discount if you hire us to provide any of our services at multiple properties at the same time. Please call us for further details at (609) 923-4548.
A. Not only do we have a referral program, but we also offer discounts for large homes, military/veterans, and senior citizens.
Please Note: one referral per household.
A. Homeowners can schedule an estimate by simply calling us at (609) 923-4548 or filling out our estimate request form found online at www.dmbllc.com.
A. Once we meet with the homeowner we typically send out the Statement of Work within 24 hours via email.
A. Homeowners are not required to be home, however, we prefer our clients to be home during the process of tearing off the roof. In most cases, most of the roof will be pulled up by 9:00- 9:30 a.m. The reason we prefer our clients to be home up until this process is a precautionary action we take just in case we find any rotten plywood on the roof deck. If the homeowner is home, we can receive approval for replacement of the rotted plywood. We normally charge for plywood on a per sheet basis. Please feel free to call for further details.
A. Here at Duane Mainardi Builders, LLC., we generally watch the weather very closely, to avoid replacing a roof in the rain. In the rare occasion that the roof is off while raining, we have all of the equipment necessary to protect your property in a moment’s notice. We have brand new whole house tarps at all times just in case of an emergency on the premises of the job site. As stated, we will not attempt to replace your roof if rain is in the forecast.
A. Absolutely. We typically finish a roof replacement within one day.
A. We believe that it is not always a good idea and is not the best option to install a new roof over the existing roof. Here are some reasons why:
If there is any rotted plywood present beneath the existing roofing system, the homeowner and the contractor will have no way of knowing because while installing the new roof system, the roof deck will not be visible. If rotted plywood is concealed beneath the existing roof system and the new system, problem areas will remain rotted and will eventually cause the rot to spread and result in a leak. For further details on replacing rotted plywood, please feel free to give us a call at any time at (609) 923-4548 and we would be happy to further explain.
While undertaking a recover, a contractor cannot install ice and water shield in high risk areas. High risk areas are noted as: over hangs, valleys, roof to wall connections, around pipes, around skylights, and at chimney connections. Ice and water shield requires being adhered directly to the plywood deck. By doing a recover, this disables our ability to use ice and water shield. Without Ice and Water Shield, the homeowner is no longer guaranteed against ice damning.
Lastly, homeowners should be aware that some manufactures will not issue the full value warrantee to a roof that is installed over an existing roof. The full value Warrantee is a 50 year non pro-rated extended warrantee. GAF is one of the few manufacturers that WILL allow a homeowner to recover and while still receiving the extended warrantee. However, please note that this is not a guarantee against ice damning however. The only way to guarantee against ice damning is with the application of Ice and Water Shield.

A.The ambient temperate while installing a new roof system should not be below 45 degrees Fahrenheit. This is because on most shingle applications that use solar activated sealant, demand heat and UV rays from the sun to activate and soften the sealant to create the necessary bond needed to provide good wind resistance for the finished asphalt roof covering system. Proper installation of the sealant is crucial for a roof system to ensure compliance.
A. The roofing debris is in most cases recycled.
A. These are three basic and common options:
1) Traditional 3 Tab Shingles:
Traditional 3 Tab Shingles are no longer as popular of a choice, however, are still offered to any homeowner that prefers this type of system. While using the 3 Tab Shingles, this will date your house. In other words, the 3 Tab Shingles may cause the home to look a little older than it may be. The 3 Tab Shingles are less expensive, however, for a small price difference, the homeowner can upgrade the roofing system to a Dimensional Shingle.
2) Lifetime Dimensional Shingles:
In South Jersey, the latest in both technology and style is the Lifetime Dimensional Shingles. This design is by far the most popular choice for moderate to steep slope roofs. The Dimensional Shingles are available with a non-pro-rated Lifetime Manufacturer’s Warranty with the application of at least 3 GAF qualifying accessories.
To learn more, please visit: http://www.gaf.com/Roofing/Residential/Products
See GAF Shingle & Accessory Ltd. Warranty for complete coverage and restrictions. The word “Lifetime” means as long as the original individual owner(s) of a single family detached residence [or the second owner(s) in certain circumstances] owns the property where the shingles and accessories are installed. For owners/structures not meeting above criteria, Lifetime coverage is not applicable. Lifetime ltd. warranty on accessories requires the use of at least three qualifying GAF accessories and the use of Lifetime Shingles.
**See GAF shingle & accessory warranty for details.
3) Liberty™ Low Slope Membrane Roofing:
This system is an SBS self-adhering roofing system to protect low slope roofing areas with a quality membrane roofing system.

A. Absolutely. Duane Mainardi Builders realizes the importance of maintaining an attractive exterior view, therefore we take various precautions to ensure the homeowners’ property is found just as clean, if not cleaner than before the roof replacement process began. For every roof replacement project, our crew places a tarp along the entire house extending from the roof to the ground. In some cases, we also use plywood to protect work areas. Lastly, we finish every project by using magnetic rakes and magnets to ensure that the property is nail-free.
A. Estimates are always complimentary as long as you are the owner of the home that is being inspected.
A. Although a lighter roof will transfer heat somewhat differently, the shingles are designed to last the same amount of time no matter what color you pick.
There are also GAF Cool Series Shingles, specially designed roofing granules that have greater reflectance than traditional shingles. This results in less the transfer of heat to the space below—to keep you cooler in the summer. This product may assist in extending the life of the roof.
A. What many homeowners fail to recognize is that a roof needs both an inlet for air to enter, and an outlet for air to escape. Most homes have either no ventilation or not enough of it. Insufficient attic ventilation can lead to a multitude of problems, with roof leaks being among one of the most common.
Without proper attic ventilation, the warm and moist air that rises has nowhere to escape, creating potentially dangerous attic conditions in the form of condensation, mold and mildew. This, in turn, can make your paint peel, compromise the structural integrity of the attic, create weaknesses in your roof and reduce the efficiency of the insulation of your home.
Another problematic condition resulting from improper attic ventilation is specific to the winter months: ice damming. A lack of attic ventilation can cause ice to build up in the eaves and gutters of your home, which can buckle or fall off under the weight, causing serious and expensive damage to your home.
Here at Duane Mainardi Builders, we believe it is very important for our customers to completely aware of basic information regarding the work we are performing on your home. Please feel free to take a look at the documents below providing excellent content on what homeowners should know about ventilation, the top 5 attic venting homeowner concerns, and 5 frequently asked questions about ventilation. Weather patterns have been changing more drastically than ever in today’s day and age, consequently, manufacturers have been working hard to continue creating products that will adhere even through the toughest weather conditions. Manufacturers have successfully created new and improved products that have been produced with higher wind ratings allowing home owners to feel a sense of security while investing in a roof for their home.
At best, the old 3 tab shingles carried a 60 mph wind warrantee (if 6 nailed.) Hurricane winds can exceed 60 mph, therefore putting homeowners at risk for losing shingles. However, GAF has created the Lifetime Dimensional Shingles to allow homeowners to feel completely at ease when a storm approaches with its 150 mph wind rating. There is a 130 mph wind warranty with the Lifetime Dimensional Shingles. Please note that this is more than double the 3 tab for a small price difference.
A. A valley is an intersection of two roof planes that runs at approximately a 45 degree angle and takes water in two directions. The valley must be properly flashed in order to maintain its water tight integrity. During a storm, under the right conditions, low pressure can pull water up underneath the shingles at the intersections. This causes leakage if proper care is not taken to the underlying area under the shingles by using ice and water shield.
A. The cost of your roof will depend on its size, shape, slope and the number of existing roof layers. At Duane Mainardi Builders, LLC., we are currently having a fall roof promotion.
